May in Saskatoon is my favourite kind of reset. The snow is behind us, the days are getting longer, and there's this collective exhale across the city that feels almost audible. People are back in their yards, kids are back on bikes, and if you listen closely, you can hear lawnmowers firing up for the first time all year.
For me, the best part of this season is watching my little senior dog come back to life. She's too small to handle a Saskatchewan winter with any real enthusiasm, so the moment the weather turns, she is ready. We take the same route through the park every time - she knows every corner of it - but watching her, you'd never know it. Every sniff is a discovery. Every patch of grass is the most exciting thing she's ever seen. She is completely, unapologetically in the moment.
